Wow! It's hard to believe that christmas is almost here..... are all your gifts wrapped yet? Are you ready for the cooking, the guests and the non-stop chaos? Me? Dear Boyfriend-
While I know you will soon be taking over the TV with Discovery Channel's new season of "Gold Rush", I'm thinking you can make it up to me somehow. Maybe you can take a cue from your beloved show and add a little shimmer and shine to my closet.......or my studio ( I'm dying for that gold luster dust from Martha Stewart Weddings or those new gold foil notecards from Kate Spade). Honestly, what makes a girl happier than a little sparkle?!

Pumpkin Patch

Dear Jack-O-Lantern,
This is usually the time of year that you make your appearance on my front steps, but to be perfectly honest with you......I'm kind of sick of the mess that comes along with carving you. I need to change things up a bit. In fact, this year, I prefer to do something more cheerful and crafty. Afterall, there are so many more fun things to do with those pumpkins on my steps then to make them all creepy and frightening!

Trend of The Week: Ombre

I love color, especially when its used in unique ways. So obviously, I have become obsessed with everything ombre! Ombre is when colors are used by graduating from light to dark or vice versa. And it has become all the rave. From celebrity hairstyles to those amazing ombre cakes that have been popping up at weddings lately.... this trend is everywhere. It's such a fun way to use color, and it makes everything look delicious right?

Pretty In Pink

Dear October,
I know you love being all dark and frightening with your orange & black, but I do appreciate that you also take the time to brighten things up for a good cause too. I personally am a huge fan of all the pink you have going on. Not only does it brighten my day, but it has a purpose.... Breast Cancer Awareness. So thank you October, you're beautiful color lets us know that awareness is the key to early detection. It's time to think pink everyone!

An Apple A Day

Dear Doctor,
Does an apple a day really keep you away? If so, I guess I won't be seeing you for a while. Between the apple picking, apple pies, apple inspired accessories, and yes, my all time favorite-caramel apples, I've been getting my daily dose of apples all fall long. Whether or not this old wise tale is true...who knows… but I’m not taking any chances!

This month, the Missoni for Target collection had people falling all over themselves to get all the Zig Zag pieces they could. What was once an outdated trend from the 60's, is fast becoming one of the most popular trends of 2011. This pattern is inspiring everything from furniture, clothing, accessories, stationery and even wedding cakes. How can you not love something as fun and fabulous as Zig Zags?!
